The Sebastopol Cultural Community Center will host an Afrobeat Party to celebrate the New Year. This family-friendly event will feature live music from Onye & The Messengers, AfriCali, and Space Walker, offering a dynamic blend of Afrobeat, funk, jazz, and global grooves inspired by the legendary Fela Kuti.
The party also serves as a fundraiser for Geoffrey Enibu, a key figure in California’s Afrobeat music scene, who is currently battling cancer. Proceeds from the event will support his recovery.
Guests can indulge in delicious African and Jamaican cuisine, including Jollof rice and vegan Ital dishes. The event promises fun for the whole family, with activities such as face painting. Attendees are invited to enjoy an evening of vibrant music and cultural celebration. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.
