“SLEEPLESS” explores the deep-seated fears that keep us awake at night—mortality, money, health, safety, love, and loss. This exhibit by artist Chris delves into the unsettling thoughts that take hold in the quiet hours when fear seems most vivid. Through 18 new works, primarily sculptures, Chris brings to life these anxieties, crafting each piece with exquisite detail using a variety of media and techniques. His art captures that dreamlike state between sleep and wakefulness, where the mind distorts reality into haunting, insurmountable worries.
Chris, whose work often explores themes of memory, loss, and the passage of time, has been exhibiting professionally for over 25 years. “SLEEPLESS” marks his fourth solo show at Paul Mahder Gallery. He resides in downtown Santa Rosa with his wife.
