Ledson Winery & Vineyards

In the heart of Sonoma Valley, nestled among the vineyards, emerges an architectural showpiece known throughout the world as the “Castle.” The impressive edifice was designed by founder and winemaker, Steve Ledson. The winery consistently produces highly coveted, small-lot handcrafted wines scoring in the mid-’90s and above, showcasing the absolute best Sonoma County has to offer. The winemaking philosophy is, “everything begins in the vineyard.” Steve chooses quality over quantity, only selects the best grapes, and will reject fruit if it doesn’t meet his approval.

As one of the most important award-winning wineries in the region, Ledson Winery & Vineyards offers several wine tasting experiences by appointment. Guest can select a Classic or Winemaker Tasting at one of three separate tasting bars or a Private Wine Tasting in a personal tasting suite hosted by one of Steve’s personally trained winemaker assistants. The Gourmet Marketplace offers a great selection of local and unique cheeses, meats, fresh sandwiches, and salads, plus many Ledson delicacies, such as flavored mustards, olive oils, and wine-infused chocolate sauces. After the tasting, many decide to enjoy a delicious picnic in the majestic Oak Grove.

Wines are only available at the winery, through the wine club, or online.

Winemaker Tasting- $45 or $60
Visitors to the winery will enjoy the chance to sample - five of the finest handcrafted varietals in one of the beautiful tasting rooms or outside at a picnic table in the Oak Grove. During a Winemaker Wine Tasting experience, a Ledson expert will provide interesting insights into the wines and the winemaking process as you enjoy the ambiance of the Castle and the flavors and nuances of each extraordinary wine.

Private Tasting - $95
Private wine tastings are conducted by one of our knowledgeable wine consultants personally trained and mentored by Steve Ledson. Your wine tasting will take place in one of the six private suites or, as weather permits, outside on the veranda overlooking the vineyards or in the Oak Grove.

The wines for the private tasting will be personally selected by your wine consultant based on any requests and preferences you specify when making your reservation.
