Late summer is when the days are hottest and the sunsets are longest in Sonoma County. All the more reason to get outdoors and explore all that Sonoma County is offering this month. Dinners, music festivals, and winery tours are just a small sample of all there is to do during the month of August.

August 1, 2015

Rosé Rendezvous at Simi Winery – Healdsburg
2:00 – 5:00 p.m.; $35 per person

Celebrating the gold medal-winning Rosé wines, the rendezvous is a great opportunity enjoy some sun and delicious food as well. The price includes Rosé wine tasting, bites, plus a complimentary wine glass to take home.

Sunset Supper at Jordan Estate Vista Point – Healdsburg
4:30 p.m.; $200 per person

Vista Point sits upon the highest hilltop in Jordan Estate, providing spectacular views of the mountains during sunset. As you enjoy the view, experience an exquisite four-course meal paired with Jordan Estate’s finest wines.

Petaluma Music Festival – Petaluma
12:15 – 9:00 p.m.; tickets start at $40 per person

Because what can be better than drinking fine wine while listening to tunes? With 15 performers across folk, rock, instrumental and more, this family friendly event also includes a silent auction and guitar raffle, so there is certainly something for everyone.

Wind to Wine Festival at Keller Estate and McEvoy Ranch – Petaluma
11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; tickets start at $95 per person

The inaugural festival offers patrons the chance to taste the finest wines the Petaluma Gap has to offer. Specializing in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah, you can discover why everyone raves about Petaluma wines.

August 8 & 9, 2015

Gravenstein Apple Fair at Ragle Ranch Park – Sebastopol
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. each day; tickets start at $10 per person
Known as the “sweetest little fair in Sonoma County,” this annual fair has been happening for over 100 years. From live music to a petting zoo, arts and crafts to a pie baking contest, there is something for everyone here.

August 14, 2015

Wags, Whiskers and Wine Gala at Trentadue Winery – Geyserville
5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.; tickets start at $175

If you’d like to taste magnificent wine and eat delicious food, all while helping the Sonoma Humane Society Gala, then this event is perfect. Featuring a silent and live auction, plus live music, there is a lot to love here.

August 15, 2015

Rodney Strong Vineyards Summer Concerts featuring Randy Newman – Healdsburg
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; tickets start at $75

Make a friend in Randy Newman amongst the gorgeous landscape of Rodney Strong Vineyards. Sip one of their fine wines while enjoying the many classics from a man who will always let you leave your hat on.

Project Zin at Hotel Healdsburg – Healdsburg
6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; tickets start at $200

This is a wine event where one can learn just as much as one drinks. With more than 30 participating wineries and restaurants, all proceeds go to benefit the Down Syndrome Association North Bay. Mingle with the wine producers as you sample some of the finest Zinfandel wines ever made, which are paired with special creations from Chef Palmer and top local Sonoma County chefs.

Starlight Supper at Jordan – Healdsburg
7:30 p.m.; tickets start at $200

Few evenings can be more relaxing than sipping fine wines, eating delicious food, and stargazing during a meteor shower. All of that is available to you at Jordan Winery during this fantastic event, which will showcase the bounty the winery’s garden and other local purveyors paired with a selection of Jordan vintages.

Tour de Fox at Kendall Jackson Wine Estate – Santa Rosa
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; $50 registration fee

If you are a cycling enthusiast who enjoys a good wine, this fun event takes a biking tour through wine country’s beautiful landscape. Starting and ending at Kendall Jackson Wine Estate and Garden, enjoy the post-ride festival with wine tasting, beer tasting food and music. Best of all, proceeds go towards Parkinson’s research.

Sunset Supper at DaVero Farms – Healdsburg
6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; tickets start at $100

This farm-to-table style vegan dinner is not to be missed. Stroll the grounds before enjoying a delicious meal prepared by guest Chef Matteo Silverman of Chalk Hill Cooker. Dishes will include Nebrodini Bianco mushroom ceviche, heirloom polenta, and spiced eggplant puree with summer greens. All wine pairings are included, and the relaxed late summer atmosphere is certainly one to soak up.

Bodega Bay Seafood, Art & Wine Festival – Bodega
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; tickets $12 each day

If you love good music, a plethora of delicious food from which to choose, coastal views, and the opportunity to sample many fantastic wines, this event combines all your desires into one all day festival. Go for both days to get the maximum fun out of the experience.
